अपने दस सांसदों से संकट में है यूनिफाइड सोशलिस्ट पार्टी

शेर बहादुर देउबा मन्त्रिमण्डल में इसके चार मंत्री हैं, जिन्होंने उन्हें वापस बुलाने के पार्टी के फैसले का उल्लंघन किया है। इन्हें सरकार पर दबाव डालने के लिए पार्टी अध्यक्ष माधव कुमार नेपाल समेत छह सदस्यों का समर्थन मिला।

काठमांडू पोस्ट के अनुसार दस सांसदों ने पार्टी मीटिंग जल्द बुलाने के लिए ज्ञापन सौंपा। उन्होंने इस महीने की शुरुआत में चार मंत्रियों को वापस।बुलाने के पार्टी की स्थायी समिति के फैसले पर भी नाराजगी जताई है। पार्टी ने पिछले 5 जून को बिरोध ख़ातिवाडा, राम कुमारी झाकरी, प्रेम अली और कृष्ण कुमार श्रेष्ठ को वापस बुलाने और नेताओं का एओ नया समूह भेजने का फैसला किया। जीवनराम श्रेष्ठ, मेटमनी चौधरी, शेर बहादुर कुंवर, राज्यमंत्री भवानी खापुंग को स्वास्थ्य मंत्री के रूप में पदोन्नत किया जबकि हीरा चंद केसी को स्वास्थ्य राज्यमंत्री नियुक्त किया गया। स्वास्थ्य मंत्री विरोध ख़ातिवाडा ने बताया कि हमने पार्टी मुख्यालय में मंत्रियों को वापस बुलाने के पार्टी के फैसले पर चर्चा के लिए ज्ञापन दिया है। पार्टी अध्यक्ष माधव कुमार नेपाल को सौंपे ज्ञापन में सांसदों ने कहा कि बजट पर चर्चा के दौरान मंत्रियों को बदलने का निर्णय अनावश्यक था। संसदीय दल की बैठक की मांग करते हुए सांसदों ने समावेशिता के सिद्धांत के पालन समेत मंत्रियों को बदलने के कुछ शर्त रखी है। यहां बता दें कि पिछले साल अगस्त में गठित संयुक्त सोशलिस्ट पार्टी के 24 सांसद हैं, जिसमें स 10 सांसद या 40 फीसदी सदस्य पार्टी के लिए मुसीबत का सबब बने हुए हैं। इस कारण पार्टी अध्यक्ष माधव नेपाल दबाव दबाव महसूस कर रहे हैं। नेपाल की लीडरशिप के नीचे पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री व CPN-UML अध्यक्ष केपी शर्मा ओली के खिलाफ अभियान चलाया जा रहा है।

However, 10 of key leaders including Ghanashyam Bhusal, Bhim Rawal and Yogesh Bhattarai fighting Oli decided to remain in the UML, and others sided with Nepal to form the Unified Socialist.

While Jhakri firmly stood by Nepal, Ale and Shrestha played an instrumental role in helping him constitute the party.

Insiders say Nepal is on the backfoot. Despite the Standing Committee taking the decision, he cannot force Jhakri, Ale and Shrestha to comply with it. Any pressure, he fears, could prompt them to quit the party, leaving him marooned. In the worst case scenario, he could even see an end to his political career. Otherwise, also, his nine-month-old party will be in disarray if the 10 lawmakers decide to quit.

Meanwhile, Jhala Nath Khanal, a senior leader of the party, too has been saying that it’s up to the leadership [Nepal] to implement the decision taken by the party. Khanal and Nepal too appear to have drifted apart lately, with the former making a strong push for a “left alliance” on which the latter is not very keen.

“As the party’s Central Committee meeting is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, it will come up with a concrete decision regarding the ongoing mess of change in ministers,” Khanal told the Post. “I don’t think there will be any problem within the party and the party will remain intact.”
